Here Comes the SUN: Empowering Countries to Scale up Nutrition Efforts
11.00-12.00 Eastern U.S. Time, Room 310
Since 2013, Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) countries have made major strides to bring together stakeholders from multiple sectors to align national efforts to end malnutrition. A primary mechanism to coordinate these efforts at the country level is to develop a multisectoral national nutrition action plan. MQSUN+ has supported SUN countries to develop these action plans for over six years. Through targeted technical assistance, MQSUN+ has learned that getting to the end product can be a multifaceted and time-intensive process with many steps along the way—building political will, raising awareness and understanding about nutrition, aligning stakeholder priorities, developing a common results framework, costing and defining scale of nutrition actions and framing monitoring and evaluation.
